Prism Glasses
Prism correction should only be selected when PRISM is listed on your prescription. If you are unsure how to enter the values, upload your prescription rather than guessing.

Ordering Prescription Prism Glasses Online
Prism correction is part of a prescription, not a lens feature that should be added without one. If your prescription includes prism, Olet lets you enter both vertical and horizontal prism values, along with the required base directions, directly in the online ordering process.
Prism Correction Made to Your Prescription
Prescription prism glasses use prism values measured in prism diopters (Δ), together with a base direction such as Base In, Base Out, Base Up, or Base Down. Your prescription may contain prism for one eye or both eyes, and may include vertical, horizontal, or combined prism values.
Enter these details exactly as they appear on your prescription. If anything is unclear, upload the prescription instead of estimating the values. Prism should only be added when it has been prescribed by your eye-care professional.
What Do Prism Glasses Look Like?
Most prescription prism glasses look much like regular prescription eyeglasses because the prism correction is built into the lenses. The finished lens thickness and appearance can vary depending on the amount of prism, your other prescription values, frame size, and lens material.
Prism may be prescribed in some cases involving double vision or binocular vision alignment, but whether prism is appropriate—and the amount and base direction required—should be determined by your eye-care professional.
FAQs
What are prism glasses?
Prism glasses are prescription eyeglasses with prism correction built into the lenses according to an eye-care professional’s prescription. Prism values are measured in prism diopters (Δ) and include a specified base direction.
How much does prism correction cost?
Olet’s Prism Correction add-on is $14.95. Your frame, prescription lenses, and any other lens upgrades are priced separately.
Can prism glasses be prescribed for double vision?
Yes, prism correction may be prescribed in some cases of double vision because it changes how an image is positioned for the eyes. Whether prism is appropriate for you, and the prism amount and base direction required, must be determined by your eye-care professional.
Do prism glasses look different from regular glasses?
Most prescription prism glasses look similar to regular prescription eyeglasses because the prism correction is built into the lenses. Lens thickness and appearance can vary with the amount of prism, the rest of your prescription, frame size, and lens material.
Can I order prescription prism glasses online?
Yes. Choose a frame, enter or upload your prescription, then open the Prism Correction section and enter the prism values and base directions shown on your prescription. You can then continue choosing your lenses and complete the order online.
